At noon we arrive at Merl Camping Ground, at the entrance you have to fill in a form and put your money in an envelope and then take a free place, it's that easy. We have thon salad with bread crouton. Then we need a siesta, as we want to see the sunset on Nadab Lookout today. First we drive to the Cahills Crossing, here the road goes through the river, the route is only passable at low tide and low water. You can't get out of the car, there are lots of crocodiles lurking around. Fortunately, we don't have to drive through here.
Merl Camping Ground
We just leave the table and the two chairs in the hope that we will still have the space and the things when we come back later.

Cahills Crossing

Ubirr Rock Art
We booked the sunset tour with a ranger, but it turns out we are not really compatible with his way of doing a tour. The self-promotion of a descendant of the founder of the clan that resides here was too exhausting for us. We dropped out and also thankfully did without the campfire stories, later in the campground.
Green ants build their burrow in the bushes from leaves, very impressive. The various murals are impressive and tell many stories.
Nadab Lookout
It's time to walk up so we can still enjoy the view, because soon the sun will set. We have seen many sunsets, but this one is one of the most impressive we have ever seen. The vastness doesn't really show in the pictures, despite the many visitors it is quiet and everyone watches the spectacle in awe. So beautiful!
After so many impressions we fall asleep early, and of course are awake early again. We continue towards Jabiru to refuel and replenish our water supplies.
