Maybe our container is on it?

Today we were already on the road at 8am. We had to be in Port Louis by 09:30, the customs appointment was postponed three times, but today was the day of days. Swiss style and because you can never really estimate the traffic to Port Louis, we added an extra 20 minutes. Google Maps then adjusted the time from time to time on the way and everything from just on time to 25 minutes earlier was included. In the end, we arrived at 9.15am without any complications. The agent from the haulage company then arrived with Mauritian punctuality at 9.40am and greeted us in a friendly manner.

We went straight to the customs officer, the documents were prepared, we just had to sign them. Once all the copies had been compared with the originals, we were ready to go. One of the three sewing machines was too much. VAT now has to be paid on these, which doesn't cost the earth. The whole thing went quickly and we were out again after a good 20 minutes.
The container ship is due to arrive today and we should have our belongings delivered in about a week.

We continue into the city centre, or rather to the Caudan Waterfront, where you can park easily and cheaply. 4 hours for 2 Fr. and only a 10-minute walk from the city centre.

Yesterday was the 12th of March, the bank holidays, which is why the umbrellas are hung up in the national colours. There's a lot of excitement here because a delegation from the Indian government is on a state visit and they're just going shopping here.

Now it's time for a cosy café, a little chat and to watch the goings-on in the harbour, oops, it's just before midday. We want to go to the Ocean Basket, they have good fish, who do we meet? Hartmut Sieper and Maria with customers, after a quick chat we leave them to discuss their business, we also have to go on to our bank.
We can now have our accounts changed from "foreigner" to "resident". There is also a credit card and once again one of the administrative tasks is completed.
