From our home to&nbsp;<strong>Mauritius<\/strong>&nbsp;The route first takes us to&nbsp;<strong>Kuala Lumpur<\/strong>, before we set off on our actual adventure: a four-week journey across China \u2013 from the imperial city&nbsp;<strong>Beijing<\/strong>&nbsp;to the futuristic skyline of&nbsp;<strong>Hong Kong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All in all, our trip will&nbsp;<strong>Last 33 days<\/strong>, us through more than&nbsp;<strong>20 cities and regions<\/strong>&nbsp;lead and via&nbsp;<strong>28,000 kilometres<\/strong>&nbsp;cover the route. We will travel by plane, high-speed trains, cars and even on a cruise ship on the&nbsp;<strong>Yangtze River<\/strong>&nbsp;be on the road.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Start in Kuala Lumpur<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first section takes us from<strong> Mauritius<\/strong> to <strong>Kuala Lumpur<\/strong>. Not entirely by choice \u2013 as we\u2019d actually intended to travel via Dubai \u2013 but thanks to Trump, we\u2019re now able to stay in KL for a while longer to get in the mood for the trip and take in the skyline of the Malaysian capital with its famous <strong>Petronas Twin Towers<\/strong> to experience. We\u2019ve been here before, of course, but it\u2019s always fascinating to see how it all works here. Not to mention, it\u2019s such a lovely way to spend time with <strong>Dumplings <\/strong>stuff your face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From there it continues to&nbsp;<strong>Beijing<\/strong>, where our grand tour of China begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>From Beijing to the heart of Chinese history<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The journey starts in the Chinese capital&nbsp;<strong>Beijing<\/strong>. There, we will visit some of the country\u2019s most famous places:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the&nbsp;<strong>Tiananmen Square<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the&nbsp;<strong>Forbidden City<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the&nbsp;<strong>Summer palace<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and, of course, the&nbsp;<strong>The Great Wall at Mutianyu<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After several days in Beijing, we take the&nbsp;<strong>High-speed train to Xi\u2019an<\/strong>, where one of the world\u2019s most impressive archaeological wonders awaits us: the&nbsp;<strong>Terracotta army<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Up high: Tibet<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Xi\u2019an, we\u2019ll fly on to&nbsp;<strong>Lhasa<\/strong>, the capital of Tibet, to over&nbsp;<strong>At an altitude of 3,650 metres<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There we will see, among other things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the majestic&nbsp;<strong>Potala Palace<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the holy&nbsp;<strong>Jokhang Temple<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>traditional monasteries such as&nbsp;<strong>Drepung<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Sera<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are then taken on a spectacular journey through the Tibetan mountains, past the sacred lake&nbsp;<strong>Yamdrok Tso<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>Shigatse<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pandas, mountains and megacities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After Tibet, we head back down to&nbsp;<strong>Chengdu<\/strong>, where we saw the famous&nbsp;<strong>Giant pandas<\/strong>&nbsp;will visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From there, the route takes us on to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the giant Buddha statue of&nbsp;<strong>Leshan<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the holy mountain&nbsp;<strong>Mount Emei<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and then on to the futuristic metropolis&nbsp;<strong>Chongqing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Yangtze cruise<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Chongqing, we board a cruise ship and spend several days travelling along the&nbsp;<strong>Yangtze River<\/strong>&nbsp;thanks to the spectacular&nbsp;<strong>Three Gorges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During this river cruise, we will experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the gorges&nbsp;<strong>Qutang Gorge<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Wu Gorge<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the tributary&nbsp;<strong>Shennv Stream<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and finally, the gigantic&nbsp;<strong>Three Gorges Dam Project<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Avatar landscapes in Zhangjiajie<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the river cruise, the route takes us to&nbsp;<strong>Zhangjiajie<\/strong>, home to one of China\u2019s most spectacular landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The up to 200 metre high rock needles of the&nbsp;<strong>Zhangjiajie National Park<\/strong>&nbsp;served as inspiration for the floating mountains in the film&nbsp;<em>Avatar<\/em>. Here we will visit, among other things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Yuanjiajie<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tianzi Mountain<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the&nbsp;<strong>Bailong Elevator<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the&nbsp;<strong>Tianmen Mountain with its glass skywalk<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Modern cities and classical gardens<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We then travel by high-speed train to&nbsp;<strong>Shanghai<\/strong>, China\u2019s largest city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Awaiting us there:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the&nbsp;<strong>Shanghai Tower<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the historical&nbsp;<strong>Covenant<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the high street&nbsp;<strong>Nanjing Road<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and the classic&nbsp;<strong>Yuyuan Garden<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Shanghai, the journey continues to the famous garden city&nbsp;<strong>Suzhou<\/strong>&nbsp;and then on to the historic water town&nbsp;<strong>Tongli<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The legendary Huangshan Mountains<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the scenic highlights of our trip will be a visit to the&nbsp;<strong>Yellow Mountains (Huangshan)<\/strong>&nbsp;be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These mountains are famous for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bizarre granite peaks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>wind moulded pines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seas of fog<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>spectacular sunrises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will even&nbsp;<strong>One night directly on the mountain<\/strong>&nbsp;spend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>West Lake and karst landscapes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The route then continues to&nbsp;<strong>Hangzhou<\/strong>, where we went on a boat trip on the famous&nbsp;<strong>West Lake<\/strong>&nbsp;company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After that, we\u2019ll fly to&nbsp;<strong>Guilin<\/strong>, from where we have a&nbsp;<strong>River cruise on the Li River<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>Yangshuo<\/strong>&nbsp;set off \u2013 one of China\u2019s most beautiful landscapes, featuring spectacular karst mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another highlight will be the impressive&nbsp;<strong>Longji rice terraces<\/strong>&nbsp;be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Final in Hong Kong<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, we will travel by high-speed train to&nbsp;<strong>Hong Kong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ll be spending several days here, exploring the city on a private tour and enjoying the view from the&nbsp;<strong>Victoria Peak<\/strong>about the famous&nbsp;<strong>Victoria Harbour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ll be spending our last night at the legendary&nbsp;<strong>Peninsula Hotel<\/strong>, before heading back via Kuala Lumpur to&nbsp;<strong>Mauritius<\/strong> goes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019re welcome to share in our excitement;
