We had to be at the pier in Hobart early, so we set off at 06.40 am. We travelled 150 km east of Hobart by bus to the Port Arthur area. After a cappuccino and a lukewarm muffin, we boarded the boats equipped with tippets. The three powerful engines at the back plough the boats through the cold water. The cliffs are impressive, what wind and weather have created here.

The sea lions let the sun shine on their full bellies.

Suddenly the two boats swerve and head out to sea, dolphins have been spotted. Now it's finally here, the ultimate dolphin photo!

After the boat trip, we got a hot soup and a packed lunch at the Port Arthur Visitor Centre. We then had a look at the park - it's an old prison, they really should have built a castle in such a beautiful place. The church also looks like this.

We wait in the cosy garden until the bus takes us back to Hobart.
The plan was to grab a quick bite to eat and then fall into bed tired. Until we ended up at the bar at Bar Wa Izakaya. What they had there knocked our socks off. Small plates to share, which we like anyway, but the short rib beat everything, Asian flavoured, soy sauce crust and tender as butter. After that, we really fell into bed.
