Because the weather was so bad yesterday, we drove to Nugget Point Lighthouse first thing in the morning. The journey to Dunedin was short on the SH1 and we got there quickly. Larnach Castle is situated just outside Dunedin in a beautiful garden. We stayed at the Dunedin Palm Motel in a very central location and set off for a first tour before ending up at the Ermerson Brewery.

It's well laid out here, the old railway station building has just been partially wrapped up but is beautiful. Street art is a theme here, the pictures on the buildings are great. The Emerson Brewery is good, great beer and good food. We also visited the Founders Museum, which explains how it all began.

In the Woof! Bar we had an aperitif, kafir lime gin and tonic, served with lukewarm olives. Afterwards we let ourselves be spoilt in the Moiety restaurant.
