Today we booked Raj for a day trip. The south tour was on the program. There was a lot to see: The ship models in Vacoas, and immediately afterwards a rum tasting at 9:30 a.m. lifts the mood for the whole day. The Tamarin waterfall and a volcanic crater in Curepipe. The impressive Ganga Talao temple in Savannah. After the lunch break we went on to the Chamarel waterfall and the 7 colored earth. The viewpoint on the way home was a nice conclusion.

Tamarin Falls
On the Grand Bassin in the mountains is the temple Ganga Talao. At the holy lake, monks are said to have brought water from the Ganges. It is a huge complex. In the next few days there is a huge festival with 300,000 visitors, some of whom make the pilgrimage on foot, the road is 6 lanes and there are thousands of parking spaces. It was an impressive experience, it smelled of incense, people prayed, the women are the bosses, the men have to do what they say decently. Everything is very quiet and peaceful.
So now it’s time for a break, in the restaurant Saveur Tropical there was fish in a banana leaf and chicken.
Well fortified, we continue to Chamarel to the main attractions of the area. The Chamarel waterfall and the 7 colored earth. Everything is very well organized, there are always a lot of tourists here. Arabica coffee is also grown, which is offered on site in the café. It was good and also necessary.

There are also giant tortoises to marvel at, which are visibly having fun.
At the end of an eventful day, we are presented with the wonderful view of the coast.
