Vineyards and so on

Adelaide is also known for the vineyards nearby, so we booked a tour. Wine, beer and gin was on the program, actually booked as a group tour, but there were only two of us, so private tour.
Symone from CP Tours picked us up and after a 40 minute drive we arrived in the hills of Mc Laren Vale.
The first stop was at the d’Arenberg Cube, where Dali is also a topic.

Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards

The first winery on the tour was a blast, great explanations, a family business and wonderful wines, we are thrilled.

Right in the vineyards, so beautiful.

Vale Brewing Restaurant

The third stop was a small brewery with a restaurant and a beautiful view of the vineyards. The beers showed the scope of Australian beers well, there was no explanation, it says on the note. IBU is the index for bitterness, now we know that.

The Salopian Inn

For lunch we were driven to the restaurant The Salopian Inn, we ate very well. The typical pie was great.

Fox Creek Wines

Great environment, but the wines… well we didn’t like it, everything too unripe for our taste. But we were also very spoiled in the morning.

Ginny Pig

The last stop on the tour was the gin tasting, we were very well informed and entertained. There were three gins to try, the Classic Dry Gin, the Botanic Gin, the Spiced Fig Gin and for Sylvia the Pink Gin. Befitting with Fever-Tree Tonic. We then took the Classic Dry Gin with us because Okle’s hip flask was empty.
