From Queenstown we drive to Te Anau, a village that consists mainly of motels and some shops and is located on Lake Te Anau. We enjoy the trip in beautiful weather.

The information on how long you drive from Te Anau is very different, Google says 1.5 hours. The cruises operator 3 hours, as always the truth is in the middle. So we are there on time, if you have already driven over passes in Switzerland, then this is not the big challenge here either.
The ship for our two-hour round trip is ready.
It’s a bit overcast today, but contrary to the forecast, it’s much drier than expected. It rains here 200 days a year and not too little. Many waterfalls transport the water from the mountains into the fjord.
On the way back we passed Lake Mirror.

Today we were lucky, the announced rain was delayed. Now dirty weather is forecast until Friday, but we are weatherproof.
