From Wãnaka to Queenstown it is an hour to drive, the view of the mountains is not to be sneezed at. The places shown as ski resorts are rather small by Swiss or Tyrolean standards.
We have a quiet flight to Auckland and are already at the hotel after noon. The weather is fine and we take a short walk into the city.

With the nice weather we take the chance and go up to the 60th floor in the Skytower. It is just sunset and with a little patience we can also see the illuminated city.
In the Depot restaurant we get good beer and with a marrow bone from the wood-fired oven, we also feel at home. Greetings to the Chrüzli team.
The brownie with marshmallow from the oven with vanilla ice cream was simply a blast. We walk contentedly towards the hotel. The restaurant tip from Charliy was already very good, more about that tomorrow.
