Firefly Cave and Whangārei

Today we drive to the north of Auckland, before we drive to the Waitomo Caves.
A limestone cave with a sky of fireflies. There was no photography, but they sell photomontages. Then we drive 5 hours to Whangārei on the coast, here the way is the destination, sometimes up, sometimes down, from small country roads to four-lane highways there was everything. Now rest.

Whangārei

Passing Auckland, we arrive tired in the dark at our accommodation (with a great view) and soon fall into a comfortable bed. The view here is supposed to be great.

In the morning we wake up to thick fog, but fortunately it soon dissolves.

The view from the breakfast table is very nice.

And then another rainbow… priceless, on closer inspection there are even two.

In the restaurant TopSail we ate the best in New Zealand and by chance we also met our landlady Leeann.
