Today we will go through the southern gate into the national park and until then we drive 40 minutes over a mountain with Mr. Hu’s minibus. Everything is green, wet from last night’s rain, and it smells wonderfully fresh. We don’t quite have 20 degrees and a good 80% humidity. Perfect for our noses and lungs.
The “Dove Tree” is a symbol or friendship and is protected.
The sandstone pillars were the inspiration of the floating mountains of Pandora in the movie Avatar by Janes Cameron. Before that, they became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. The gondola lift takes us up again, only we drive through the fog and you can’t see anything anymore. The mountains are all swallowed up by the fog. Even of the tower, which stands right in the middle of the national park, you can’t see anything. We decide to take the gondola back down.
So we didn’t get the view as on the information board.
The mother sends the cub ahead to look for something fine.
Now we walk along Golden Whip Creek to the next bus station. Our guide looks a bit incredulous. Because it is 6 km and 2 hours away. We are looking forward to it and it is good for us to be in nature. Everything along the river and again and again a sandstone pillar appears and invites us to take pictures. Really great. A lot is interpreted into these stone formations, again and again we are told a story. Oh, there are more people on our way again, so the bus station can’t be far away. A nap and a few curves later we were back in the same place as yesterday.
We let ourselves be driven to the bakery and enjoy one or the other treat.
The baker is currently making sausages in the dough, unfortunately not ready yet.
