Today we go on a tour of Auckland with Charly from Foodcraft. We are picked up at 9.3am and first drive out of the city. In the end, there are seven different stops with 16 dishes. We get on very well with Charly, no wonder we all love good food, time flies and we are well fed and also a bit tired back at the hotel.

Hare & Turtle Café - in Mt Albert

Smoked White Fish Sandwich with Crème Fraiche, Crispy Shallots, Pickle & Lemon
Eggplant Parma Sandwich with Provolone, Mayo, Basil & Homemade Tomato Sauce
A great start with the best sandwiches we've had in New Zealand. The Flat White coffee is touted here as a New Zealand invention. It's a bowl of warm milk... we've had it forever!

Blue Rose Café - in Sandringham
Palusami Pie
The filling is a Polynesian recipe with corned beef cooked in coconut.

Daily Bred Main Shop
We bought a sourdough bread and it was once again a decent bread for a long time.

Eden Noodles - in Balmoral
Pork & Chive Dumplings in Spicy Sauce
Sichuan Cucumber Salad
It was original and equally great as in Shanghai so authentic, luckily it also has a branch near the hotel.

Azabu - in Ponsonby
Tuna Sashimi Tostada with Corn, Wasabi, Cucumber, Red Onion, Jalapeno
Seared Beef Tostada with Truffle Sesame & Pickled Daikon

Volcano Roll with Tiger Prawn Tempura & Huancaina Mayo
Hakusai Cabbage with Sesame Mustard Dressing & Parmesan

Aigo - in Ponsonby

Yangnyeom Chicken
Cacio e Pepe Tteokbokki with Torched Cheese and Truffle
Agria Potato, Mushroom Bulgogi, Truffle Cream Fraiche
Mazesoba with Spicy Jeyuk Mince, Peanut, Chives, Nori, Confit Egg

The attempt at Fusion Kitchen is very well done, that's just the trend here that chefs from all over the world like to pick up on.

Duck Island Ice Cream - in Ponsonby
Wonderful ice cream at the end

We really enjoyed the day with Charly, it was a great experience. Thank you very much. https://www.foodcraft.co.nz/
