At Batchelor Holiday Park we got a pitch with its own shower and toilet. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the area. There's plenty to see here even without a 4WD.
Magnetic Termite Mounts
There are huge termite constructions to marvel at here - it's incredible what such small animals can do.
Tolmer Falls
It is a well-developed destination and, if you can read, well labelled. Today we decided to take the longer route and because it was supposedly short, we didn't take any water with us.
Well... It was very hot today and we arrived back at the camper soaking wet. Now we take the short walk to the viewing platform and enjoy the view of the endless expanse.
Wangi Falls
After sweating it out, the huge natural pool was just what we needed - the shower under the waterfall was marvellous. And because it's so big, the many visitors didn't get in the way. A lovely place to linger.

Florence Falls
The cool down has done us good and we drive on to Florence Falls. The signpost indicates a distance of 450 metres and 135 steps down to the pool. It's even warmer now... Sylvia also gets to enjoy the waterfall shower here and we float with our pool noodles, it's a pleasure. The way back is via a shady path along the stream, butterflies accompany us on the way back. The thermometer now reads 39.5 °C and we enjoy the air conditioning in our vehicle. Today is Friday after all! So it's steak and red wine in the outback, what a way to end the day.

very impressive 🙂
