We leave Hobart towards the east coast and drive to Swansea, a small tranquil town near Freycinet National Park. The Tasman Highway A3 leads us to the first stop of the Spiky Bridge. We first drive past Swansea.
The first viewpoint at the Devil’s Corner Outlook with a view of the bay is already a small impression of what is to come.
The drive continues to Freycinet National Park, here you have to have a park pass, we booked it in advance. The destination is the Wineglas Bay viewpoint. Park the car and start walking, and yes it goes up 200 meters in altitude, actually it’s a long staircase. But the view of the two beech trees is great.
In Swansea we move into our accommodation, a small house right next to the jetty. There is a T-bone steak of pork, wonderful.
