Port Arthur and the coast

We had to be at the pier of Hobart early, so we started walking at 06.40. We took the bus 150 km east of Hobart to the area of Port Arthur. After a cappuccino and a lukewarm muffin, we were able to board the boats equipped with capes. The three fat engines at the back plough the boats through the cold water. The cliffs are impressive, what wind and weather have created here.

The sea lions let the sun shine on their fully eaten bellies.

Suddenly the two boats make a detour and head for the open sea, dolphins have been sighted. Now it’s finally here, the ultimate dolphin photo!

After the boat trip we got a warm soup and a packed lunch at the Port Arthur Visitor Center. We then looked at the park, it is an old prison, actually you should have built a castle in such a beautiful place. That’s what the church looks like.

In the secluded garden we wait until the bus takes us back to Hobart.
Now we had a quick meal and then fell into bed tired, that was the plan. Until we ended up at the bar of Bar Wa Izakaya. What was there knocked our socks off. Small plates to share, we like that anyway, but the Short Rip beat everything, Asian seasoning, soy sauce crust and butter-tender. Soul food! After that we really fell into bed.
