Mörgästraich forward march… Today is Morgästraich in BaselAt 4 o’clock in the morning the lights go out, with us it is already 7 o’clock and we can watch the Morgästraich on TV with coffee. It’s always a goosebump moment.

On Sunday, the flour soup was already prepared, of course a sip of red wine was not to be missed.
For the Morgästraich we had invited Sheila and Ruedi Koller from the Swiss Club, Ruedi is a Basel resident and grew up in the Hirzbrunnen district. In addition, there was also Thomas, who grew up just a stone’s throw from Markus in Kleinbasel, he is looking around the island, maybe he will also emigrate.

There were many Basel specialties, for the aperitif there was Faschtewaie, then flour soup, Käswaie and of course onion with bacon. So we had a nice Morgästraich in the best company.
Of course, there were still very fresh carnival shoes and Schenkeli for dessert.

A wonderful gift to the passive members of the Schränzgritte has also found a place in Mauritius.
