The sunrise over the hills of the rainforest is very beautiful, it is still very quiet at 7 o’clock. The sun comes out and it suddenly gets warmer. First we visit a strawberry farm and marvel at the cultivation facilities, all of them have sun protection over the fields so that the planted does not burn. We continue to a lavender farm, which also has other flower fields. We like the Mona lavender very much. The drive continues through the rainforest, in between you can see simple wooden huts of the nature inhabitants, who sell honey here on the roadside to make ends meet.
Arriving in Ipoh, we first have chapati, they are freshly made and taste wonderful, there is minced chicken, a curry and dal (lentils) with it. In addition, Indian dresses were sold and Sylvia buys two new outfits very cheaply. In a small. alley there are many shops and Sylvia gets stuck on a small green bag, which also comes along. After a short rest in the room we continue, we want to look at the streets with the many murals, not far away is the old train station, which is still in operation. The first government building is currently being renovated, but is still in operation and is needed for the issuing of business licenses. Dinner at the Chinese restaurant is a soup cooked with pork and stewed pork, with us it would be a ragout. A short walk along the river and then back to the hotel. The Harley Club of KL is still on the way for an evening tour. An eventful day comes to an end, we sleep soundly. Tomorrow we visit the Chinese temples in Ipoh before we continue to Penang.
After the wonderful sunrise, we first go to the strawberry farm for a tea, and some strawberries. Of course, Raaj makes a promotional video for the strawberry farmer, who of course also runs a shop and a coffee. The farm is huge and covered with tarpaulins against sun and bird damage.
We continue to the lavender farm, where there is little lavender and many other flowers, which of course are only available in winter.
On the way another traditional small village with stilt houses.
We arrive in Ipoh until noon, so we deserve a refreshment. It’s great authentic roti at the Indian.
Shopping…. and suddenly bought two dresses.
Street art in Ipoh, incredibly beautiful.
The old train station is still in operation, the government building is being renovated and we had a delicious dinner at the Chinese restaurant. Afterwards a short visit to the river, but there was nothing going on.
