Rodrigues... A trip with friends, with a surprise and a lightning wedding.

Now the time had finally come, for a long time we wanted to visit the little sister of Mauritius. Now with Birgit’s 60th birthday, (sorry I forgot 49.5 completely) there was also a reason to do so. So we planned something and on Sunday we started. But as so often in Mauritius, something comes up at short notice. This time a very short-term invitation to the wedding of Emilia & Manav. So we went to Birgit and Uwe on Saturday and were allowed to be at the wedding. First we charged the batteries of the camera and off we went. Here are some pictures.

It was a nice evening, there was wonderful food from Lou and we were able to have a good conversation with the guests. Sharty had her baby with her, at the Divali she was still quite pregnant. We soon withdrew, because we want to go to Rodrigues the next day.

The travel planning was already complete, so we could start.

After breakfast we go to the airport, of course we are there early enough and soon we start and we can board.

Uwe made a great video of our trip. Have fun and thank you Uwe for your work.

Well, the rental car came later, the previous tenant missed the flight and didn’t return the car, then they had to change their plans. The drive along the coast was nice and we were able to move into our villa, on the common terrace it is easy to stay, it is sheltered from the wind, because there is a stiff breeze that makes kitesurfers happy.

Some more pictures from the excursions: Turtle Park with a stalactite cave, Port Mathurin, a small botanical garden and the beach Anse Ali.

The Birthday Surprise

At the same time as us, Warren is also at the hotel with his family. In the afternoon, there are traditional snacks and champagne on the terrace. Of course, a ride on the swing is not to be missed. The birthday cake was delivered with a lot of singing. Congratulations again on your milestone birthday.

So a wonderful journey to Rodrigues passes, it was beautiful.
