Today Markus wanted a tour of Port Louis for his birthday. The traffic to Port Louis was a bit slower than usual today, but we were there before Bertrand. We met at the old post office and then had some history lesson, it was quite interesting and we exchanged ideas, it was a nice experience. Bernard brought us fermented fruits, reminds us of our pear filling, tastes good. We then started on a tour, stopped at the landing site of the Dutch, they were the first here. We then walked via the old town to the market, there was first a special small banana variety to try. Then we had roti at the Indian restaurant which was delicious. We then passed the Lotto Kiosk and played the Friday lottery, unfortunately neither of us won anything. We already knew the market, but it is always impressive. We continue to the big mosque, a very unagitated visit, the mosque is actually located in the Chinese quarter. Sylvia wanted to know where you can buy fabrics. Voilá one fabric shop after the other right in the corner. The only samosas with beef are right next to the mosque, they were very good. There was also chicken, which is baked almost like piccata with an egg breading. Afterwards we walk on to the government district and then back to the Waterfront, where there is still sweet coconut rice and sweet samosas, we could have tried more, we will save that for another time. Bernard showed us his city in an impressive way, thank you very much for the great time with you.

The start of the day started with a candle and the drive back to the north passed quickly, there was spaghetti Pedro (with beef strips). In the specialty shop there were great wines, so we could enjoy a nice Saint Emilion. At the end of a wonderful day there was a cigar, accompanied by a dark rum and black Lindor balls. It really doesn’t get any better than this!
