Johor Bahru

It was not possible to finish the posts, there was always so much going on or the connection was bad. Now a diving break forces us to leisure. Markus has an ear infection again.
Our itinerary from Johor Bahru to Penang (George Town)

So we can tell you what we experienced in Malaysia. Johor Bahru is located directly on the island of Singapore and is connected by a bridge. The city is also very big by our standards and has 1.7 million inhabitants. Punctually at 09:30 the driver picked us up at the hotel. The drive to the meeting point with Raaj, who will show us his country, was entertaining, we made good progress and then had to leave Singapore first and enter Malaysia. Everything went out of the vehicle, we didn’t have to get out. Raaj was already waiting for us at the glass temple.

There is always a lot going on in front of the border, entry was easy, we only had to show the return ticket.
We will also stick the slogan on our cars…

THE CLOSER YOU GET THE SLOWER I DRIVE

Raaj is a busy Malaysian, he owns two cafés, is an actor, makes settings at weddings and in between trips with tourists. We got along very well right away.

We have seen a lot on the first day and arrive at our hotel in the afternoon. Our room is on the 33rd floor, it is an apartment with living room, kitchen and bedroom. You could certainly fit 4-5 of the hotel rooms in Singapore, which cost twice as much, on the area. In the evening Raaj picks us up again, we visit the night market, go for an after-work beer in a rooftop bar and for dinner to an Indian restaurant.

Glass Palace
Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman a dream in glass, very impressive.

Gurdwara Sahib We have also never seen an Indian prayer temple of the Sikhs.

The Islamic Center is right next to the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque, which belongs to the king.

Lunch at Indian Restaurant

There is a white church in Johor (Church Of The Immaculate Conception), which became a running gag because we kept passing by the church and pretending to have seen it for the first time. One of the many Chinese temples we saw.

Then we were driven to our apartment, we were already quite overwhelmed by the many impressions, so the short break came just in time. The view was great, on the horizon you could see the skyscrapers of Singapore. Towards evening we went on, we were excited.

First we visit the night market, well it was still light. Sylvia spotted Mongosteen, they were wonderful.

In Taman Merdeka Park, independence from the British Empire is celebrated.

In the rooftop bar sky 26 with a great view there is a beer and at the Indian, a biryani, tandoori chicken, naan bread and daal. The nightcap is around the corner in the pub, an eventful day comes to an end, we fall tired into bed and look forward to tomorrow.
