The drive from Johor to Melaka was unspectacular, it went past many palm oil plantations to the city. We were able to make a small river trip, which showed a nice overview of what there was to see. The old town with the many shops and the small restaurants. In the chocolate shop we had Swiss chocolate. The lunch at the Chinese restaurant was great and after checking in at the Swiss Heritage Hotel (it had nothing to do with Swiss) we visited the Portuguese quarter. At the river we had an after-work beer and afterwards again traditional Malay cuisine with beef redang and nasi lemak. Tomorrow we drive to Kuala Lumpur.
After a short breakfast, we go straight to Melaka, on the way there is a short stop at a rest stop. Wonderful mango already cut, a dream.
After 3.5 hours we reached Melaka, on the way there was not much to see except palm oil plantations. Now we go to the tourist tour on the Melaka River.
In the old center there is a red square, the buildings date back to the time of the Dutch. Here are also the rickshaw drivers, who always want to outdo each other with their decorated rickshaws.
The city can’t really agree on the slice, sometimes Malaka sometimes Melaka. In the chocolate shop, Raaj meets fans, who of course don’t miss a photo with him. In the meantime, we stock up on biscuits from home.
Now we go to the hotel the Swiss Heritage Hotel, we chose the hotel because it is well located in the city center. Well, for one night just OK. The only thing that is really true is Heritage. We rest for a short time and then we continue to the Portuguese quarter, at the Riverside a beer and then to eat at Wild Coriander. We get a nice table, because Raaj was already recognized again.
