Kuala Lumpur

In the morning there is toast with egg and toast with butter and honey, the tea is nice and sweet and gives energy for the day. We leave the Swiss Heritage Hotel, by the way it has nothing to do with Switzerland, but it is well located. It is a three-hour drive to Kuala Lumpur, when we arrive we are hungry and go to eat at the Banana Leaf. There is rice and chicken curry served on the banana leaf.
Afterwards we visit the Raaj Tea Palace, it is a branch of Raaj, our travel guide. Of course, Markus has some suggestions for improvement. The tea is very good, Sylvia challenges the staff with a coffee with almond milk. Then we go to the hotel, we have a great room on the 33a floor, there are not 14, that brings bad luck to the Chinese. The rooftop on the 51st floor is awesome, with a view around the Petronas Twin Towers. In the evening we make a tour through KL. A beautiful Hindu temple should not be missing, it is very crowded at prayer time and it is pouring rain. Our rooftop is also very nice at night, and we go to bed early. Really well rested, we look for a place for breakfast. We find what we are looking for at Halifa Maju, there is tea and Roti Telur, which is Roti with an egg in the middle. Cost with tea 2.50 chf per person.

RAAJ TEA PALACE

In Raaj Tea Palace Raaj shows us his tea café, he has leased it to a franchiser. It is a nice tea shop with many tea specialties and also small dishes. Good idea for the local clientele.

Apartment House

The hotels in Kuala Lumpur are, as in all big cities, very expensive, even by Asian standards. That’s why we decided on an apartment. Not far from the Twin Towers with a spectacular roof terrace. For less than 60 francs per night.

In the evening we meet again and go to a temple for evening prayers, which is jam-packed and it is pouring down. After dinner we go to enjoy our view again and fall tired into the comfortable beds.

Breakfast at an Indian restaurant

Today we need a good refreshment before we will climb the many steps.
